ECITB Abrasive Wheels
Description
This course is designed and structured to provide training in the safe use of abrasive wheels and meets with requirements of the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 (PUWER 98)
Who is this course for?
This course is intended to develop the skills required to understand the operation of Abrasive wheels tools and machinery, and to operate hand-held and mounted abrasive wheel tools.

- Potential hazards, risks and environmental impact arising from the use of abrasive wheels
- Methods to minimise the risk whilst using abrasive wheels
- Types of use and abrasive wheels
- Marking systems for abrasive wheels
- Regulations and associated documentation
- Storing, handling, and transporting abrasive wheels
- Inspecting and testing abrasive wheels for damage
- Corrective actions to dispose of abrasive wheels
- Function of all components used with abrasive wheels, ensuring correct use and assembly
- Methods of dressing and truing abrasive wheels
- Adjusting work rests and tongue guards
- Practical demonstrations and exercises of hand-held and bench mounted abrasive wheels
