The Liverpool City Region (LCR) Apprentice Ambassadors Network is made up of 26 local apprentices.
The network has been established by the LCR Apprenticeship Hub as a way of raising awareness of and participation of young people and employers in Apprenticeships across the region.
The Apprentice Ambassadors can be booked to visit schools and speak to pupils about their personal experience of apprenticeships. They can also be booked to attend relevant events across the region.
The 26 apprentices are working in a variety of industries, and are at different stages of their training. Between them, they offer a broad spectrum of experience and advice, ranging from how to get onto an apprenticeship, to what’s involved and tips for success.
What is an Apprentice Ambassador?
An ‘Apprentice Ambassador’is someone who inspires people to to consider apprenticeships as an alternative to university.
Typically, an ambassador is someone who is currently an apprentice, about to complete their programme, or has recently completed their programme.
As an Apprentice Ambassador, you should be able to:
- Share your experience, knowledge and skills and talk positively and honestly about your Apprenticeship journey to inspire others
- Promote the benefits & opportunities that Apprenticeships provide
- Promote progression to Advanced & Higher Level Apprenticeships
- Proactively promote Apprenticeships to employers to highlight the numerous benefits of recruiting apprentices
- Act as a role model to promote and encourage diversity within Apprenticeships
- Engage with education, industry and the Government to motivate, inspire and encourage young people to make an informed decision about their future
- Support and influence the provision of information, advice and guidance for young people
- Visit schools, job fairs and events and speak about your experience as an apprentice
