Apprenticeship Incentives
Covid-19 has certainly provided challenges for industry, for individuals and for businesses, large and small. Throughout this unprecedented period, our team have kept abreast of the government announcements, especially changes to education and measures to help business settle into a ‘new normal’. We are delighted to promote new incentives, which include support for businesses in the form of apprenticeship recruitment and training. These incentives include:
Recruiting from Traineeship
Employers will receive £1000 if they offer a traineeship student a work placement. This placement ensures that the student gains hands-on experience in addition to providing a helping hand. Please note, more guidance and detail around the work placement will be released soon.
If this is of interest to your business, please contact a member of our team to register your interest and be put on our place-matching list.
Hiring of New Apprentices
The UK Government has introduced an incentive for employers to recruit new apprentices. Employers that recruit a new apprentice aged 16-24 will receive £2,000. Those that hire an apprentice 25 and over will receive £1,500 for each new apprentice hired, between 01st August 2020 and 31st January 2021.
These payments will be in addition to the existing £1,000 payment that employers currently receive for recruiting new 16-18 year-old apprentices, and those aged under 25 with an Education, Health and Care Plan – where this is applicable.
This means employers could be eligible for up to £3000, for each apprentice employed.
